Custom Stories: A Pearl Necklace with A Legacy

A few years ago, a friend approached me about redesigning a pair of pearl earrings she had been gifted by her grandmother. She knew her two daughters would cherish both the connection to their great-grandmother and to each other if the two pearls on the earrings were split and reset into gold solitaire necklaces. After falling in love with the imperfect bezel settings and the way the button pearls fell perfectly on the long gold chain, she recommissioned me to design another two necklaces from a different set of earrings for her sister and herself to wear! Now, two pairs of grandmother’s pearl earrings are worn almost daily as necklaces by four strong women of their family!⠀
