Custom Stories: Caitlin's Pearl Redesign

Back in December, Caitlin reached out to me with the most dear custom request. Her "Gram" had recently passed away, leaving Caitlin and her sister a single pair of pearl earrings. While Caitlin loved the earrings, she knew she needed to do something with them so they would get practical use by both sisters. Here's the kicker - her sister, a bride to be, had NO idea Caitlin contacted me to redesign Gram's pearls!

We stealthily shared photos back and forth. Caitlin sent me pictures of her sister's wedding dress with beautiful crystal details, and I sent back mock up images of how we could transform the two pearl earrings into modern pearl pendant necklaces. Caitlin chose the Pearl with White Topaz Half-Halo Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver as the final design, and after some carving, casting, and stone setting, we couldn't be happier with the final pieces.

When Caitlin shared the newly refreshed necklaces with her sister, she snapped a few pictures of the reaction, and oh my heart! What a beautiful, joyous occasion. Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. & the best MOH!!

And in the words of Caitlin herself...
"Oh Mary!!!!! They came out more beautiful than I ever imagined! It's like they were meant to be part of a necklace pendant [crying emojis]. I can't tell you what this means to me and how much my sister is going to BAWL HER EYES OUT!!
I can't even describe to you how happy I am with these. I love how they have both a contemporary yet antique feel to them - to honor both then and now! I am so very, very thankful to you for helping us to honor both our grandmother and great-grandmother at this very special time. You are a true artist!"

I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!! Thank you, Caitlin, for letting my jewelry play a small role in your very BIG day!
