Scallop Sterling Silver Rattle

It all started when my daughter was born, and I wanted to create something special just for this time in her life. She would get jewelry eventually, but I wanted something she could love and play with now. Thus, solid sterling silver baby rattles.

Each rattle is hand-carved out of wax, sliced in half, hollowed out, and then cast into solid sterling silver. In the casting process, the wax is replaced by silver. We fill the hollow molds with tiny balls of steel, solder the sides back together, and what emerges is the sweetest, gentlest little pings. They'll become the soundtrack to your early motherhood, as they have for me. 

I love the delicate scalloped shape of this classic round rattle that can grow with baby as they age.
